About IttyBittyLit
My goal and motivation in this is simply to make people aware of some of the brilliant examples of children's literature available now. I believe that if we can get more exposure for the breadth and quality being created now, we will all reap the benefits in the future. Our children will become habitual readers. Habitual readers buy more books as they get older, and do better in school with richer vocabularies and understand multiple perspectives for problem solving of all sorts. This is not just about some videos, not just a suggestion to help sell some of my favourite books, but a step toward supporting the education of a generation, a society, an age.
As I set up my first project with Abrams for Andrea Beaty's book, Iggy Peck, I grew increasingly excited about the prospect of presenting some great books to people beyond my regular circle of friends.
