Unfortunately, this argument serves nothing. My arguments aren't in favor of science as if science was a religion. Yes, cruel deeds have been done in the name of scientific advancement - over things that we have been able to demonstrate, repeatedly test, and know for certainty. Religion has justified cruel deeds over....what exactly? An imaginary sky daddy that says "believe in me or be tortured!" This serves nothing for the better of humanity. It is pointless and without merit. But - the argument you pose, again, serves no purpose.
