Another bizarre and in today's eyes a bit rascist scene is Imotos speech on board the space station about his reasons to fly to Mars - he explains that the lack of food over centuries had made the Japanese stunted in growth and that new ressources on Mars will satisfy all Japanese needs so to end...

@uzzle65 Maybe, but the electronic sounds are clearly inspired by "Forbidden Planet". Anyway, both are great sci-fi flicks!
