Beautiful singing, perfect pronunciation and diction. What a shame the poor guy could never be a plausible Lohengrin on stage unless he joined WW for at least a year.

I know it's not done to criticise a living legend but Domingo should have stayed clear of Wagner (apart from his Tristan, which I really liked). Kaufmanns Lohengrin on the other hand I immensely enjoyed.

Eine ganz besondere Stimme hat er, dieser Klaus Florian Vogt. Ein Lohengrin wie wir ihn zuvor noch nicht gehört haben. Mir gefällt er! Die Nummer 1 bleibt für mich Rudolf Schock, aber dieser Vogt ist einsame Spitze muss ich sagen. Alle Achtung!

No one has ever sung this song as fine as Rudolf Schock and probably no one ever will. But that doesn't mean that Jonas Kaufmanns interpretation isn't wonderful. I really love his voice. He is definitely the greatest tenor of our age!

@unethicaldenier Rudolf Schock ist auch mein Nummer 1 wenn es um die Rolle des Lohengrin geht, aber ich muss auch die anderen recht geben: man kann Schocks Stimme unmöglich mit der Stimme Jonas Kaufmanns vergleichen. Auch sein Lohengrin gefällt mir außerordentlich. Und genauso René Kollo und Pete...
