I love the idea,and I can see where it's going, but it doesn't seem to quite get there; I think I'd have been more inclined to follow the original structure and ideas more closely and work the deaf thing in alongside. The missing little finger gag works, but the bailiffs that can't understand BS...

I expect that the question of hypocrisy an be argued endlessly; I just wish that Comic Relief was funny.

Bubblewrap was so new in 1975 that none of us watching could make the connection. The actor's conviction makes it work (you may notice that the grub is made of it as well, and the Alta costumes in Blakes 7)

Coming up with nastier and nastier ways of treating people is not the mark of a strong society - or a particularly intellegent one - and Human Rights are just that - rights - not some drippy idea invented by commie-pink...

So is this the missing bit from the end of Frontier in Space? If so it might explain the Doctor being traumatised in the subsequent story, but I'd have thought Jo would have lost it entirely, stuck alone on on an alien planet having just sen the Master turn into a festering ghoul.
