30,000 Iraqi interpreters worked with the United States military in Operation Iraqi Freedom to help rebuilding the new free Iraq

More than 1000 of them died or injured
10,000 left the country to other neighbor countries like Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, etc.
Waiting to face their unknown destiny

Other hundreds managed to immigrate to the United States using the limited program called the SIV (special immigrant VISA)

But the majority is still in Iraq waiting for a real chance to establish a new life somewhere else.
