Youssou N'Dour believes a song can change lives. And major recording artists from around the globe have joined him to release a series of remixes in support of IntraHealth OPEN-a new initiative that will change how people think about health, technology and the developing world. Help put the latest advances in open source technology into the hands of Africans to solve the most critical public health issues of our day.

Global non-profit IntraHealth International has partnered with Grammy Award-winning artist and internationally-acclaimed humanitarian Youssou NDour on a charity album titled OPEN Remix benefiting a new initiative created to address the most critical health issues in Africa by putting the latest open source technologies directly in the hands of health workers.

Some of entertainments biggest stars are lending their talents. Nas, Duncan Sheik and Peter Buck of R.E.M. are among the headliners donating remixes of the Youssou NDour song Wake Up to raise funds and visibility for the highly-anticipated IntraHealth OPEN initiative.

Starting February 10th and rolling through the Spring, free downloads of the songs will be available with a suggested donation through several distributions partners including Rhapsody, iLike, Amazon MP3, and through IntraHealths website at www.intrahealth.org/open. Each distribution partner has received an exclusive track along with a set of remixes ranging from hip hop to electronica, trance, blues and world.

IntraHealth OPEN is a global initiative that engages African technology and health leaders and students to develop and sustain health systems tailored to meet the most urgent health care needs. The project is being created to strengthen African health professionals ability to identify and implement appropriate technologies that support improved health outcomes and improve the global open source communitys ability to address public health issues.
