I am a 41 year old US Army Veteran who joined the YouTube P90X revolution to lose weight.
My goal is simple, I want lose weight and get fit so that I can join the Army Reserve or Indiana National Guard and continue my military career.
Two week short of my 35th birthday in 2003, I had a heart attack. I took that as a sign and quit smoking, but in doing so, I gained a lot of weight, ballooning up to 284 pounds on my 5'8" frame over the next few years.
In 2007, I decided I had enough of being grossly obese. I started exercising and eating better, playing basketball during lunch at work 3 times a week. I managed to drop sixty pounds the healthy way during the year.
In early 2008, I completed a round of P90X, then fell off the wagon when kids started in Little League then football.
I basically regained all the weight I lost and lost much of the muscle. I'm back on more determined than ever.
