I believe that life needs to be justified. There is too much carnage to say it's just good because it is. Anything that has produced and does produce this much harm and carnage needs to be justified. Anyone giving birth, the onus is on them, the burden of proof, on you.

As soon as there came to be sentience, there came to be value. As soon as there was one kernel of feeling, one "ouch" that could be experienced, there was value. This is the basis for ethics. Harm to sentient life is a sound basis on which to build an ethical structure.
