@mozmootar This film is dark, very little humor, has a relevent message and the film is nearly perfect in it's case study of Evan's character. About Incivilius's channel
WELCOME!
My primary study is Mass Murderer's and their impact on society, as well as societies influence on them and their actions.
My channel moniker "Incivilius", implies an uncivil person. I have been treated as such by Wikipedia, and the news media. For them, the moniker stands, for individuals, I take Jonathan Swift's view, to each of their individual nature and deeds. Since a lot of my intentions have been viewed the opposite of my intentions, the moniker is meant to be the opposite of myself as a person. Maybe this way, things will be reversed, as our images are in a mirror.
The Tower Tragedy is one of the most misunderstood events in history. I am amazed at the false media information, books and articles as well as television (so-called) documentaries, that have all the clues, but no one to take a definitive stance as I will. I will work on the detailing of this profile as I am starting a documentary exclusive to the event. If interested in the process, please sign up and more details will follow.

While researching the University of Texas Tower tragedy and Charles Joseph Whitman for a motion picture script, I statrted doing interviews with those who were involved and tracable.I found that many of the victims were still deeply affected by the ordeal, and needed help. One in particular, Houston McCoy, the officer who killed Whitman and claimed the media, and the other officer who also confronted Whitman directly, had lied about the confrontration.
During our initial interview in 1997, I recognized McCoy was suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, was homeless, a binge drinker and only received a $40 per month benefit as a former Boy Scout grounds attendant.
After helping McCoy get a diagnosis for his PTSD, being denied help by then Austin Mayor Kirk Watson, and a long and protracted promise by Mike Sheffield of the Austin Police Association, which never came to fruition, I spent years getting McCoy his Social Security Disability entitlement, a Texas Worker's Compensation Award, that the City of Austin, it's attorneys and Mayor Watson fought, as he was the ultimate figure who bore responsibility for the APD and the City of Austin. I won all the legal challenges that I was permitted to handle as McCoy's Power of Attorney. The City of Austin Attorney's eventually sought to have me removed from legal representations through the Travis County Courts and a judge upheld their wishes.
An Austin Attorney who was in the court room offered to help, and the judge called him an angel. It turned out he had a conflict of interest in the matter, he got another attorney to handle the matter, and the City still refused to move on allowing the Workman's Compensation Award. This was tantamount to a district court over-turning a Supreme Court decision.
In 2006, McCoy wrote his story for the Boy Scout camp's website. After years of claiming the APD stifled his testimony about the facts of the confrontation, that elevated the other officer to international prominance, McCoy wrote in his account that since the media was getting the accounts wrong of the confrontation, his Sergeant asked him if he wanted to have a press conference to allow the truth be told, McCoy says he declined. (see McCoy's account in link below).
http://www.westtexasscoutinghistory.net/McCoy-story.html
McCoy never told me this, if he had, my involvement with him would not have changed, my tactics based on the knowledge that he was given a chance right after the event but declined, would have. I wouldn't have spent thousands of dollars helping him - losing thousands more in research, drives from Milwaukee to Texas and back to represent him, and my time would not have been wasted as it was.
In other words, Houston McCoy may have killed Whitman, denied himself and his family of the benefit of correcting the story in 1966, but his account also makes him as guilty of lieing as those he calls liars.
I refuse to try and discredit his heroics, he deserves it. I am also not trying to say he shouldn't have been helped, as I said, I would have done so regardless, in a much more abbreviated form with the same results. It is McCoy's CREDIBILITY that is in question.
If you read his account about the PTSD diagnosis, he is wrong there as well, I know, I am the one who handled it all. The PTSD diagnosis by Dr. Mink was "PTSD - Police Combat, August 1, 1966", not due to a movie that came out a decade later. That is just not true!
@ronineditor This is not a slam - but if you do work in "Hollywood", you know the drill for an indie to get a film, no matter how good the final product is, on the screen. The studios, unions and distribution companies all have contracts with the theaters and set the terms for what films will be ...
