About this user
Formed in February 2008, Worthy Company is the sibling collaboration of Harrison Mortara and Clarissa Seetoo. A soothing blend of folk, pop, and adult contemporary, Worthy Company is a refreshing alternative to the formulaic popular music of today. With soul searching lyrics and beautiful guitar melodies, Worthy Company provides a thought provoking and enjoyable listening experience.
Harrison Mortaras (guitar, co-writer) passion for music began at an early age. He attributes this love to his early introduction to music while attending church with his family. Some of his musical influences include: Neil Young, the Mars Volta, Nirvana, and Nick Drake. Recently, Harrison composed the score for the short film Axe and Shovel by Del Sur Productions.
Clarissa Seetoo (vocals, co-writer) also developed a love of music at a young age, learning to play both the piano and flute. She recently auditioned for the David Foster Star Search held in Edmonton in September of 2008. She placed in the top 50 of almost 300 competitors. Some of her influences include: Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and the Beatles.
As a band, Worthy Company performed at a fundraiser for Del Sur Productions, for an audience of 200 people. They also had the opportunity to play together at the David Foster Star Search auditions. They performed an original song entitled Last Chance. Darryl McIntyre, a CTV news anchor and judge on the panel, said of their performance, Im not a crier and that almost made me cry.
Each individually, is talented in their own right, but their strength truly lies in their collaboration. The melding together of Clarissa's pure voice and Harrison's passionate guitar produces a harmonious and enchanting musical creation.
