Anonymous tried to take down facebook before in 2011, that didn't work out either, basically the same situation.
But you really need to understand what anonymous really is, it's pretty much what it is called, it's just the idea of being anonymous on the internet, it's about not thinking like an individual. Anonymous is really the face of humanity.
I love anonymous, it's basically my religion, I think that you can clearly see how many individuals connected via internet can create a super consciousness and that's amazing to me. Anonymous knows everything, every language, every story, every lie and every truth, it worships all religions. The idea of the mask isn't in hiding your identity, it is to show that you don't have one, you are not individual, you are everyone.

Now to the topic, yes SOPA can be dangerous (and I know I made a mistake I said internet instead of online), all the definitions are just too lose, but it doesn't seen to be that threatening to freedom of speach, even if it would be absolutely misused, it couldn't stop anyone saying anything, it would only make it slightly more difficult to find.
Come to think of it, it would be possible to use it if you would want to take down a site, all you would need to do is to post there copyrighted material. But of course that would be dangerous if there would be changes to DMCA. It might seem kind of strange at this point DMCA protect us all, people that are running sites, people that are content creators and people that are violating copyrights ... just in very different ways.
Also SOPA is not all bad, there are a lot of things to protect people from products and medicines that are made outside of US that might be harmful, but presented as US product. It's just very complicated and in current form it migth be misused. It needs to be changed, but it's not all bad.
