For our sixth annual Mp3 Experiment, over 2,000 people of all ages downloaded the same mp3, pressed play at the same time, and had a blast together. This years event took place on Roosevelt Island, a thin strip of land in the middle of the East River.

For our latest mission, we picked a random couple getting married at the City Clerk's Office in Manhattan and threw them a surprise wedding reception. The couple was treated to dancing, toasts, cake, and gifts, all with complete strangers.

Using wireless microphones and the mall's PA system, both their voices and the music was amplified throughout the food court. All cameras were hidden behind two-way mirrors and other concealed structures.

The Mp3 is a mix of original music and instructions from a voice. Participants were told to wear a red, blue, green, or yellow shirt and bring a balloon. After a series of activities, the experiment came to an end with a giant battle. Everyone was split into two teams and instructed to blow up their balloons and engage in battle.
