About this user
This is a project I've decided to start. Out all of the science fictions genres out there, I don't think there is more theological symbolism in any of them, than there is in Warhammer 40k. This channel is dedicated for theological blogging, where we look at different sci-fi genres and see what kind of symbolism we can root out from it.
Here is my example: although this channel is not dedicated to an army/characters/genre/ in particular, I was very interested in the Salamanders, notably the "Promethean Cult."
First we have the name Prometheus. "Prometheus" is the name of a Titan who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to people. Yet, the Bible says that Zeus is actually the devil (Revelation 3:7-9 look up Pergamum religion) The Bible often characterizes God with fire (Hebrews 1:7 & Hebrews 12:29). I could symbolize this with knowledge that has been stolen from humanity, at the hands of the devil, only for God to raise people up to end all counterfeits and speak the true gospel.
The Salamander ideology also revolves around loyalty self-discipline, and self-sacrifce. This is not entirely un-scriptual:
(Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.)
I'm not preaching Prometheus, nor do I think he is divine. I am not preaching Warhammer or endorsing a company. I am rooting symbolsim from this story, just as I could from other fiction to build hope, which forges faith in God through the blood of Yeshua.
So, please fill free to blog on my site any subjects or ideas you have regarding this matter.
I hope you gain much wisdom.
God bless.
