I think it is quite clear that our nations intended view on Religion is to allow individuals to choose for themselves, which denomination to choose, whether to worship at all, which God is the Almighty, assemble with whomever, practice in any manner of their choosing, etc. The dividing line for a State supported Religion was intended to prevent any individual from being forced into a belief not of their own choosing, period. That includes an implied worship of the founding Fathers Christian God, a Muslim God, Jewish God, Atheistic "no God", Eastern Religions mystical God, humanistic Man as God. In History, Religion has been used as a method to Unite peoples for Power's sake in order to gain control of a people so they could be used as a fighting force either for offensive or defensive purposes when other methods of uniting them had proved insufficient over the long term.
