MMA & Kickboxing Event
About Me:

Andy started judo when he was 6 years old under Roy Inman OBE & Olympic Judo Coach and kickboxing when he was 12, he was Middlesex Schools Judo champion, and London youth games champion, he competed in Judo nearly every weekend for quite some time and became Northern Home Counties senior champion a several times.

After he got his 2nd Dan in Judo, Andy focused more of his attention on Full contact kickboxing and again was competing and winning nearly every weekend, he became WAKO British Champion and was selected for the GB team for the world championships in Kiev, Ukraine where he placed 5th due to injury, he then focused his attention on his students from his club and produced 7 British champions, 1 European champion and one world bronze medallist.

At the birth of MMA he got in ju-jitsu through his friend Gary Turner and was selected for the GB team and picked up 2 Silver medals in the world championships in Charleston West Virginia USA.

He had a few kickboxing shows under his belt by then and in 1996 he put on an MMA event which was held at Bracknell Sports and Leisure and was called Euram, some of the fighters on this event that are known today are Lee Hasdell and Mark Weir, it was too soon for the fans too appreciate MMA and one year later Lee Hasdell's Night Of the Samurai events took off, he then re launched his MMA events in 1997 Calling them CFC (Complete Fighting Championships) and in December 2000 began with a new name called Millennium Brawl which featured Ian Freeman v Travis Fulton and launched Freemans career in UFC and also made UFC look at the UK...On March 10th 2000 Andy accompanied Ian Freeman to UFC 24 held at Lake Charles Louisiana USA as his corner man.

After a few years under the Millennium Brawl banner Andy changed the name to Extreme Brawl, and in this time he also launched the career of fighter Mark Weir into UFC after bringing over 3 Americans that Mark beat in succession. Other fighters that have grown up on Extreme Brawl Events and gone on to UFC are, James Zicik after pulling off a draw v Jeremy Horn on Extreme Brawl 4 on the 28th sep 2003.
Millennium Brawl (Now Extreme Brawl) was the first UK event to use an Octagon and at one time was the only MMA event in the country for about one year.

Some more names you may know that have been on EB events are Paul Daley, Fabrizio Werdum, Lee Murray, Lee Remedios, James Mc Sweeney, Nate Shroeder to name but a few.
Andy was also featured in a few TV documentaries & Books right at the birth of ukmma, natural born fighters by Craig Goldman and No Holds Barred by Clyde gentry

A few months before July 13th 2002, the UFC approached Andy to help them with the logistics for their first UFC event to be held at the Royal Albert Hall in the UK, here is the letter they sent him after the event:

Zuffa, LLC
Ultimate Fighting Championship
PO Box 26959
Las Vegas, Nevada 89126-0959

To Andy Jardine
Zuffa, LLC dba, "Ultimate Fighting Championship" or UFC, a promotions company for mixed martial arts events was established on December 5, 2001. To date the UFC has promoted eleven live events in the United States and one live event in the United Kingdom.

Considering the fact that the UFC was doing a show for the first time in the UK, it was imperative to have a local company help with the details of organizing this event. It was at that time we were introduced to Andy Jardine.
Mr. Jardine became a very important player in the success of UFC 38 on July 13th, 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall, UK. His staff as well as himself assisted with details of transportation, commission communications, fighter medical needs, arena set up, backstage organization and street team marketing.

The UFC was very pleased with the results from his team and feel they helped extremely with the all out success of UFC 38. Not only was this show a sell out, but also was pulled off flawlessly.

The UFC is confident that upon a return visit to the UK, Andy Jardine and his team will be factored in as key players in helping to organize the overall event.

Sincerely,
Lisa Faircloth
