Bealrgh, sorry for the delay, take my advice, be good students and never try and cram all your homework on your last week of freedom, it's extremely tiring...
Anywaysss, Komachi's theme is very nice, I'm not very fond of the scythe-wielder her self (when I say that I take a neutral standing, as always) or like I call her "mid-boss" (Disgaea reference here, ADONIC BLAST!):
"To sweep away everything, and see what remains is the destiny of the mid-boss."
I won't lie, I love her theme, not in my top 10 but, very nice nonetheless (don't I say that with all of ZUN's songs!? YEAH, I DO), good in orchestras and in metal, although I think orchestra/classical arranges are the best ones, since they can really bring out the "spirit" of the song, actually it does have a sort of melancholic ring to it. This is NO exception, actually, this one is too beautiful for human ears:
"This one reflects that fate, as well as the feeling of sweeping away. Touhou has done this sweeping idea in the past, but I feel like this is the first time I've put so much exhilaration and pathos into a piece."
Exhilaration? Pathos? I didn't know you had a "poetic" side to you. But I agree wholeheartedly I mean, the song really did appeal to me, on an emotional level, yet it still has that "exhilarating" feeling, because it's a pretty quick melody. I JUST GOT SWEPT AWAY!!
As for the song, well *sniff* it's TAM, and thus it's *sniff* beautiful... YES, OF COURSE I'M CRYING, TAM always brings me to tears T_T... TAM can make ANY song bring tears to your eyes. I feel like I'm being swept away.... again... *sniff* Image + song = perfect fit.
Anyways, comment and whatnot.
"On the higan retour, that there would be no regrets as this piece..." -All quotes are from ZUN himself, translated by Touhou Wiki
Thanks for watching. T_T Can you FEEL the next update, OH, I CAN FEEL IT!!! Now... more cramming http://thepoltergeistmansion.wordpres...

[Title] - Beyond the Grand River [Author/Circle] - Wooming / Kissing the Mirror [Album] - Follow the Tracks of Crimson Hair [Event/Date] - Reitasai 7 (Mar 14, 2010) [Original] - Higan Retour ~ Riverside View ~ Komachi Onozuka's Theme [Game] - Touhou 09: Phantasmagoria of Flower View
Kissing the Mirror beams out and a lot of us fowks run head forward to dem riff shredding and murderous fret crushing.
Near mid album though, we stumble on what is probably my favored track out of this release.
And while most of the album is clearly rock-oriented, this one feels as it could fit in any of the Poltergeist members, Myonbel, KakashiMr and ChaosAngel092. It is more of a trip than a song; it is the journey across the Sanzu. Your host will be madam Komachi, glad to be your fateful guide to the otherworld.
The spectrum of instruments here is quite wide, hence my former observation. And while arguably, the best track is probably Fatal Scythe's Awakening (which has made its glorious resurgence, now with proper production values), this is most definitely my favorite original. Everything sums up to produce an elegant voyage across the dreaded waters of the Sanzu and a noteworthy musical experience.
Thanks for listening!
