"...If I am a guilty man, my crime is in daring to believe that the truth will out and that no one lie can live forever. I believe it still. Much as you try to bury it, the truth is out there. Greater than your lies, the truth wants to be known. You will know it. It'll come to you, as it's come to me faster than the speed of light."

I have had a falling out with what I used to believe regarding Religion/Christianity/the Bible! I am embarking on a quest to find the TRUTH.

Atheism is, quite simply, the lack of a belief in a god(s), a rejection of theistic claims due to insufficient evidence.

"WE ARE ALL ATHEISTS ABOUT MOST OF THE GODS THAT HUMANITY HAS EVER BELIEVED IN. SOME OF US JUST GO ONE GOD FURTHER." - Richard Dawkins

"BELIEF DIVIDES THEM, MYSTERY SURROUNDS THEM, BUT FEAR CHANGES EVERYTHING." - Tagline for The Mist (2007) (Film)

About Me:

QUOTES:
"I pledge allegiance to my flag and the Republic for which it stands: one Nation indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all." - The Original Pledge of Allegiance (1892)

"...Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." - Thomas Jefferson

"Truth: the most deadly weapon ever discovered by humanity. Capable of destroying entire perceptual sets, cultures, and realities. Outlawed by all governments everywhere. Possession is normally punishable by death." - John Gilmore

"When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic." - Dresden James

"As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities." - Voltaire

"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." - Robert M. Pirsig

"A myth is a religion in which no one any longer believes." - James K. Feibleman

"When a majority rules, a minority is ruled." -Robert Klassen

"...as long as the machines are working and you can dial 911. But you take those things away, you throw people in the dark, you scare the shit out of them - no more rules." - David Drayton (The Mist) (Film)

"As a species we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up ways to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?" - Ollie Weeks (The Mist) (Film)

"In conclusion, there is a marvelous anecdote from the occasion of Russell's ninetieth birthday that best serves to summarize his attitude toward God and religion. A London lady sat next to him at this party, and over the soup she suggested to him that he was not only the world's most famous atheist but, by this time, very probably the world's oldest atheist. "What will you do, Bertie, if it turns out you're wrong?" she asked. "I mean, what if -- uh -- when the time comes, you should meet Him? What will you say?" Russell was delighted with the question. His bright, birdlike eyes grew even brighter as he contemplated this possible future dialogue, and then he pointed a finger upward and cried, "Why, I should say, 'God, you gave us insufficient evidence.'" - Bertrand Russell, Al Seckel, in Preface to Bertrand Russell on God and Religion

"If God kills, lies, cheats, discriminates, and otherwise behaves in a manner that puts the Mafia to shame, that's okay, he's God. He can do whatever he wants. Anyone who adheres to this philosophy has had his sense of morality, decency, justice and humaneness warped beyond recognition by the very book that is supposedly preaching the opposite." [newsletter Biblical Errancy ] - Dennis McKinsey

"(Religion) With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion" - Steven Weinberg

"One thing I have no worry about is whether God exists. But it has occurred to me that God has Alzheimer's and has forgotten we exist." - Jane Wagner

"The Truth is heavy, therefore few care to carry it." - Anonymous

"Then what can I say? How can I disprove lies that are stamped with an official seal? You can deny all the things I've seen. All the things I've discovered. But not for much longer. Because too many others know what's happening out there. And no one, no government agency [or religious institution] has jurisdiction over the truth." - Fox Mulder, from The X-Files (TV Show)

"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them." - Galileo Galilei

"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

"Friends, if we be honest with ourselves, we shall be honest with each other." -George MacDonald

"The pursuit of truth does not permit violence being inflicted on one's opponent." -Mahatma Gandhi

Will be interesting to see if Dawkins is able to defend his shakey The God Delusion book at Oxford's Sheldonian Theatre on the 25th Oct. So far, he's too wimpy to turn up. Dr. Craig is about to rip it to shreds. You would think Dawkins would man up and defend it wouldn't you?
