Founded 1994 at the Gerhard-Mercator-University of Duisburg, the department for Computer Aided Engineering is now part of the Institute for Product Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

IT-supported integration and alignment of single process steps of product development and product manufacturing are our main fields of activities. By using innovative technologies and self-developed methods, we are able to provide appropriate solutions for technical application problems.

For better qualification of our graduates appropriate lectures are offered in which students can specialise themselves in using modern CAE-Systems. Other key subjects are drafting, the providing of engineering and design skills for product development and the use of PDM tools.
