The Improving Mentor Practices and Communication Techniques (IMPACT) Coalition is a non-profit mentoring and development organization that expands opportunities for urban students, schools, and organizational partners by providing debate training, literacy assistance, curricula, and mentoring services to develop informed, concerned citizens.

IMPACT advocates debate as a key to success in building healthier communities and tomorrow's leaders.

Since inception, IMPACT has started debate programs at 111 schools in NYC and expanded debate services at 45 other institutions. Over 5000 students and 300 teachers have been introduced to the power of debate through your generous support of our work. IMPACT is a partner organization of the ASSOCIATED LEADERS OF URBAN DEBATE (ALOUD)--www.debate.leaders.org

* Served over 700 STUDENTS at 91 Schools through competitive, curricular, and community debate programs with LD tournaments still to come this month

* Conducted eight debate events with many attracting over OVER 200 DEBATERS EACH

* Qualified a record 55 TEAMS for the state championships

* Funded travel, registration, and lodging for debaters to travel over 22,000 miles attending 16 additional tournaments including 10 outside of NYC

* Helped debaters win OVER 200 team and speaker awards in competitions

* Hosted mini-institutes, two debate symposiums, a two-week summer institute and other professional development sessions
