I hope I'm wrong but that appears to be one of those rather tacky "plastic" dynamo's you've bolted on to that beautiful D32. Perhaps I'm seeing it from a poor angle? If it is, you should definitely consider something milled and machined, like from PM research.

Manufactured between 1966 and 1980. I believe this is the earliest example D32 I've seen. The "grey" cylinder housings are like no later model. The "blue" covers mentioned earlier appear on later D32's sporting the oval "Wilesco" logo. This is a valuable steam engine.

I've seen some wonderful steam engines but this is certainly in the top three, perhaps the best.

I've aquired a D32 on Ebay. It is shipping to me now. It has these same cobalt blue cylynder covers but the "Wilesco" logo on the control panel is round, not oval.

I've just a acquired a D32 on Ebay. It's described as having an as yet undetermended leak possibly in the boiler. I certainly hope it leads to nothing llike this. This is a god awful frightening looking repair with a happy ending. Just what was the problem?
