@DFoxHope 1979 tv show but the recording is from an album called `Love, Life and Feelings`

recorded `live` at the London Dominion theatre with MONTY MODLYN (spelling) edited out of the 1984 lp ` WE CLOWNS... LIVE AT THE DOMINION` and released on the double CD `DOROTHY SQUIRES IN CONCERT.

HOW CAN I forget that night at the Dominion and this classic performance proving , if it was needed that Shirley Bassey and Dorothy can both take a song and interpret it differently and with such feeling and pasion.

Very intersting to see Joe but what is this? Would a range of photographs as well from different productions help ? I always wish I had not turned down `THE BAKERS WIFE` or we would havbe worked together. Kindest regards always Terence

SUNG WITH ALL THE UNCOMPROMISING TENACITY SHE COULD FEEL AND CONVEY. ( (lovely to see this as it is the only piece of film or picture I have seen of wearing the black spectacular Douglas Darnell gown) This looked even better at the Palladium, Victoria Palace and Wimbledon Theatre.

Simply wonderful, prefer this reworking from the studio version . Mind you it was fantastic `live`. She is still so much missed. If only her great performances had been filmed more eg whole concerts..... a travesty that cannot be undone.I was sitting in the front row of the LONDON DOMINION 1979 ...

@paulinewoot please don`t be certain! It is HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN`S DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR and Shirley is a royal favourite . I cannot believe she will not be included in some of the concerts and special events. Also 2013 is her own Diamond Jubilee. It is a great shame about the cancellation of the...

@coryfranciskris the show was broadcast on BBC RADIO 2 on the evening including this song , `Something` & Never,Never Never and then they were edited out of the television broadcast. Such a shame !

Bassey at her brillant best. Shirley responds to the music , the original studio track has a lightweight backing and the endjing here is better. Never forgotten hearing this on her British tour.

Shirleys albums were rarely promoted well and she never included enough of the current new material `live`

The RV show was the 1st hearing on TV and from those opening notes there was something special but she was `on fire` that evening.DSB but there are times when she exceeds herself. @Thorneycroft1937 they are both different. In the end it comes down to a matter of preference. Both these incredible artists draw from their artistry and imagination to deliver stellar performances.

heartbreaking or a mystery depending upon what you know about her battles. A truly great stage artist at her very best charismatical and magical. This need sleeve notes .Maybe one day we shall read the autobiographies `RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY` & DAVID`S PEBBLE ` and understand better .
