Where does the name come from? Hyndman, PA was the location where the helper locomotives were placed on B&O trains traveling up the steep Sand Patch grade from Cumberland, MD to Sand Patch, PA. These tracks are now owned by CSX, and the helpers are now added to trains in Cumberland.
