It's a very good male Swing dancer teaching latin. Its interesting because it is clearly Swing influenced. If you stop judging it by competion rules it looks very smooth, with a lot of ballroom step defintion removed.

The BBC produce stuff like this regularly check out 'The Power of Nightmares' etc. of course they are not broadcast in the USA because the US has the most highly censored media in the world.

Brit Ekland's Norwegian accent is closer to that of the Hebrides, where the story is set, than any of the other actors.

Tataia has lousy musicality. Ben Morris has very good musicality. It's all about Ben knowing the right places to give her space, and she reallly does her stuff, but Ben is telling her where to do it.

He's making her look much better than she is terms of musicality.

Fascinating interpretation - its played as a lament but normally played as a fast rousing march.

Another note - Basil Rathbone said the most talented Swordsman he ever met was Danny Kaye, Rathbone was astonished at the speed at which he learned fencing.

I think of this song as the 'Euro Song'. Written in 1953 by the British composer Ronald Binge the German words fit the melody perfectly. A song of reconciliation after WW2.

Look up 'West Coast Swing' Jack and JIll. The most demanding form of dance is improvised dance to unknown music with and an unknown partner.

Yep it does indeed fit your definition - as long as you determine that the music does not change tempo, emphasis, or contain syncopations and breaks.

Then the couple would have to improvise to follow the music.

That's why ballroom dance "music" has little or no musical structure.

Duh?. . . . . .. Of course its Choreography and the execution of the Choreography is very good. Wish I could dance like this.

Choreography? West Coast Swing? Choreography? Argentine Tango?

Totally defeats the purpose of the dance.

As always though, it is explained in terms of if you learn this movement, this happens. Clearly the dancer who made this video understands that it is all about communicating lead and follow, but is that is not communcated in the video.

Comic - all the physical skill in the world, absolutely no understanding of improvisational dance.

What a mad video - about 90% out of alignment with the songs content. And the Irish accent is wierd, thought the singing is fine.

Wierd - they are dancing to the music.

I wonder if they could improvise it as well, or is it just good choreography.
