What is the Hunger Initiative?

The Hunger Initiative was spawned when a group of visionaries from Wooddale Church decided that its often the simple things that make a world of difference to those in need.

For those of us who take the availability of food for granted, the Hunger Initiative is a wake up call. Rather than cause apathy or guilt, seeing the global food crisis can actually inspire us to make a difference in our community and in the world.

The Hunger Initiative is a food packing event that combines community service with education in such a way that our neighborhoods unite to make a lasting difference. We are committed to packing over 1,000,000 meals for the children of Dondo, Mozambique.

We have developed four action itemslearn, change, do, giveto help us become people who care about world hunger enough to do something about it.

This event is taking place in January 2010, and we invite you to join us!
