You could have destroyed the turret at the 9 minutes, using E actually does damage to towers aswell so you do double damage and get a free extra attack every like what, 5 seconds? Allways good to know from one Blitzcrank to another ^^.
And one more tip I have found out helps allot is using flash ...

@mannonc Well the ones I use for wood carving certainly are not sharp enough to really penetrate deeply into ones body.. Though I admit, I have not thought of the ones used for chipping away at stones.. I would indeed imagine them to be a bitt sharper then the tools I use =)
