Ha ha, if you think about it, Uncle got his revenge on Shendu. In the first episode of this season, Shendu breaks into his shop and steals one of his books (the one that tells you how to find the Pan Ku Box). Now, in this episode, Uncle stole one of Shendu's books!

Another problem -- if the demons were never banished, then the symbols shouldn't work any more. After all, in this reality, the Eight Immortals never defeated the demons, so there ARE no symbols that were used to defeat them.
