This is still a very disturbing and scary game to play. I kind of "missed out" on SH when it was first released and only recently I decided to pick it up again and play it as thoroughly as I could. It's great.

Sure it's true, but then common courtesy, human empathy or whatever would dictate that this is not something you'd point so bluntly to the face of someone who lost a dear friend of his/hers. Reflecting on the what-ifs has nothing to do with it.

I really like James' work, but I do agree with all of your points here. I think even James has acknowledged all of this to some extent. If he ever decides to retire the AVGN character, I'd not be disappointed. He's got much more going for him than badmouthing bad NES games in front of the camera....

I'm ok with some of the new cartoons (very few of them), but all this slick geometrical Adobe Flash artwork or CGI bullshit are really getting old. Now, gruesome top 80's jagged hand-drawn animation, that's more like my kind of thing.

Yeah, this documentary is so-so. Not really bad I think, but I kinda felt that as the episodes progress they get more and more redundant. It's not much about history of videogames as it is about how games are deeply embeded in the technological society we are living in.

I came here thinking I'd get some videogame trivia history and, lo and behold, I've just been schooled bigtime on history, politics and economics. Wonderful documentary.
