What homesteading means to Us.

We raise our own animals, slaughtering them as well. ( Our young children participate )

We grow vegitables and some fruit.

We hunt and fish.

We are in planning stages of adding an indoor grow area for year round growing.

We are stocking seeds which to some might be considered Heirloom seeds for long term viability of crop stability.

We store food by freezing and long term canning.

We Store water, collect water regularly from rain and run off.

We keep bleach and iodine on hand and in long term storage.

We store Gasoline and coleman fuel and rotate regularly.

We are planning a storage facility, to store larger amounts of fuel, with a fuel stabilizer.

We have solar power for heat

We have a back up generator. (tested by schedule)

We regulate electric usage on high drawl electrical devices, such as HW tank and freezers (3) through use of timers.

Wife and I participate in 90% reduction ( although not 90% YET ! lol )
