THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

"You shall have no other gods before Me." If you worshiped any other god other than the God of scripture, you will stand guilty.

"You shall not commit idolatry." If you ever shaped an image of a god in your own mind, if you have created a god in your own imagination, or if you have created a god to suite yourself; you then have committed idolatry. Thats no different than a man carving an image of a god from wood, stone, or metal then bows down to worship that inanimate object. God will see you as an idolater.

"You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain." If you have ever used His name to express disgust, or excitement; brought His name down as low as a filthy curse word, He will see you as a blasphemer. The LORD will not leave him who takes His name in vain unpunished.

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." Have you ever set aside, consistently, throughout the days of your life, so little as ONE day in seven, to focus your heart and your mind on worshiping the LORD your God? If not, God sees you as a violator of His Law.

"Honor your father and your mother." Have you honored your parents perfectly all your life? Have your parents ever have to discipline you once for something you have done to dishonor them? God will see you as a lawbreaker.

"You shall not murder." Have you ever harbored bitterness or resentment in your heart towards someone? Have you ever called someone a fool or been angry without cause? Have you ever so much thought for a moment that you hate somebody? Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer. God not only judges our actions, He judges the intentions of our heart, and He judges our thought-life.

"You shall not commit adultery." He who looks at a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her in his heart.

"You shall not steal." Have you ever stolen anything? It doesnt matter how small, or how long ago; time does not forgive sin.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." Have you ever told as much as ONE lie? It doesnt matter what color you paint it, it doesnt matter at what level, and it doesnt matter how long ago. All liars will have their part in the lake of fire.

"You shall not covet." Have you been perfectly content with what God has given you in this life, or do you want something someone else has?
