@rocksaregray I'd say a really popular (if not the most popular) starter gun, is an AK-47. I'd probably recommend the CYMA AK's. The have many versions, so you should check through them all. Try Evike, they have a large selection. I've been playing for some time now, and I just convinced my pain...

I personally play airsoft, but I think paintball and nerf are both fine. The reason I play airsoft, is because it's more MilSim related, and you can get more accurate replicas of weaponry, than in paintball or nerf.
