About this user
Known for their individual music talent but remembered for the message their music conveys, High Road is an up-and-coming Gospel trio out of Nashville, Tenessee. High Road's roots go as deep and wide as the experience and world-class talent of it's members, Sarah Davison, Anna Grace Kimborough, and Vickie Vaughn.
In the fall of 2008, Sarah—pianist and vocalist from Bradyville, Iowa—and Anna Grace—fiddler and vocalist form Meadville, Mississippi—formed High Road after meeting for the first time that summer at a county fair, and were later joined by Vickie—upright bassist and vocalist from Symsonia, Kentucky. The three found friendship, a kindred faith, and a love for making great Gospel music that would change and challenge the lives of the broken, the lost, and the found.
After recording of their first independent release, the girls celebrated the beginning of their musical career together by playing every chance they were given, and soon followed up with their award-winning independent release, Turn Your Radio On. The album—including tracks of timeless, classic hymns, breathtaking arrangements, and heart-wrenching originals—was nominated for and won Contemporary Gospel Album of the year by the National Traditional Country Music Association.
As a reflection of their roots in country and folk music, High Road began to realize their musical potential and answered the request of listeners through their production of another recording. Titled The Other Side, this album features down-home country music that is sure to please the ears any country music fan. With a swinging fiddle, a country piano, and tight harmonies, this album truly shows "the other side" of High Road by showcasing their diversity and level of talent and setting them apart them from any other female trio.
While Sarah, Anna Grace, and Vickie are all graduates of Nashville's prestigious Belmont University's School of Music, there is no doubt that their meeting and making music together is by anything but God's appointing. They feel incredibly blessed to provide listeners and fans with the message of hope found in the Gospel and pledge never to forget their down-home country roots. The High Road girls combine clear three-part harmonies, a toe-tapping fiddle from Mississippi, a country and stride piano from Iowa, and bluegrass basslines from Kentucky to define country gospel's purest sound coming onto the scene today.
