Reality as we know it is a tangled net of atoms that collapse upon themselves into a structure that we agree upon as a consciousness and it is not what we see, touch, taste, hear and smell that makes something real, it is how we perceive it. When we realize this, we understand that at the root, there is only you, the observer, and the reality before you is an ever flowing tangle of electrons and protons swirling in infinity before you. There is no boy, there is only your perception of the boy. His skin doesn't taste salty, you believe it to taste salty, so therefore it is. That isn't mint on his breath, it's your idea of what his breath is and is not. The feeling inside of his is an understanding of what it means to be close to someone. And at the heart of it, if everything is simply a net of atoms, you are him and he is you, so there is only one, so the only closeness you feel is the closeness of self. There is nowhere and nothing in everywhere and everything.
