Heritage Singers

School of the Arts (SOTA) is an urban school that has been successfully helping students achieve their academic potential by appealing to their artistic interests and creative abilities. We have:
• approximately 1,060 city students, grades 7-12
• the highest attendance rate average
• the lowest dropout rate in the city
• an enviable record of sending 90%+ students on to college

SOTA is living proof that by exposing children to the arts, we are helping poor, at-risk children achieve success. To graduate, students must complete a full academic course load and an arts sequence in one of the following areas:


·Creative Writing
·Dance modern, tap, ballet, jazz
·Drama music theatre, studio, literature
·Music concert instrument, strings, piano, voice, theory
·Theatre Technology light, sound, costume, set/scene design
·Visual Arts painting and drawing, photography, 3D design
