Welcome to the Steve Henion for House YouTube site. And thank you for your interest in my campaign for North Carolina House for District #34 here in North Raleigh. I have lived here for the past 17 years, I have been married to my beautiful wife Colleen for 16 years, and we have three wonderful children. I run a small business not too far from our home, and in my spare time, I coach and mentor kids in a variety of sports activities in our community. Like many of you, I am just an average citizen who works hard and is trying to make a difference for my family and my community.
I made this decision to run and serve in the NC House because I believe that our state and our states government are at a crossroads. Our number one priority should be to spur our economy and create jobs---while keeping our taxes low. Instead, our state's leaders continue to lead us down a dangerous path of runaway spending and out of control budgets, a tax system that hurts families and businesses, and recently they cut critical services for education and healthcare.
If you're like me, you too believe that we can and must do better and demand more from our leaders. We need someone who will represent average citizens like you and me— who work hard, support our families and share in the desire lead North Carolinas direction for the better.
