This girl is sooo much better than the winner. Unfortunately these days the appearance of the singer matters as much as the voice, at least to the judges. Leah will be absolutely gorgeous when she loses 20 or so more pounds. She has an adorable face. I know this sounds harsh but it is true. ...

This just goes to show that people want good music and good singers and are tired of the stuff the music industry has been putting out there for the past several years. Quality is quality.

@Napoleontas The statement made here was that music is universal, regardless of whether it was written by a Nazi or not. Also, Ms. Verrett proved that it could sung beautifully by a non German. Advances in the human genome prove that we ALL are Africans...so get over your tribalism and stop try...

This woman is amazing. I've yet to see any videos of her that weren't spot on. I'm puzzled how anyone could criticize any part of this performance. Opera lovers need to stop picking apart performances and just enjoy the artistry and skill when they are soooo obvious.
I have always loved this song. When I heard it years ago I didn't realize Luther was doing the background singing. Roberta is sublime as usual. And whoever was playing the bass guitar was fabulous. Does anyone know his or her name? They all came together to achieve perfection.
