I have a cat that needs to bathe every other month or so due to greasy fur, and I find that having less water in the tub helps to keep her calm. It doesn't even reach halfway between her foot and knee, yet it's more than enough to get her clean.

@patriciasmokes Depends on genre and the other instruments. I like having that papery flop on organic rock tracks, and also keep a bit of the boxiness. This is however a very nice instruction on what to listen for in a kick.
