About this user
RAY OF THE DEAD is all about HORROR! He has been into the horror genre since the age of four, first watching NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD followed by the introduction of THE EVIL DEAD on the epic VHS formats during the heyday of home cinema entertainment. With his enthusiasm shared with his Great Grandmother, Ray began a startling collection of VHS tapes topping out at a whopping 1,250.
Among his favorites included: the GOOD TIMES 1985 version of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, the MEDIA version of DAY OF THE DEAD, the EMI THORN version of THE EVIL DEAD, the PARAGON version of NIGHT BEAST, the MEDIA version of DEMONOID: MESSENGER OF DEATH, the VIDEO TREASURES version of MEATEATER, and the PARAGON version of DR. BUTCHER M.D.
Sadly, as time when on, the collection faltered and relapsed into the hands of others with the imminent death of his Great Grandmother. To this year (2010) Ray no longer has a single VHS from the special collection he once cherished. Now living in the Bay Area, Ray frequently haunts RASPUTINS and AMOEBA for traces of his former collection.
Ray happened upon his nickname (Ray of the Dead) after the ambitious and revitalizing film SHAUN OF THE DEAD emerged in theaters stateside. Realizing that as the name "SHAUN" was used to convey the idea of "DAWN", he couldn't help but notice his own name RAY could convey the idea of his favorite zombie film of all time...DAY OF THE DEAD!
With new found enthusiasm, Ray began a restorative and deeply profound passion for horror that continues today, with the addition of THE DEAD WALK website on the inter-web: www.thedeadwalk.co.nr
