We are pleased to announce SCYTHERIUM's first official music video. This video is a visual experience we feel embodies the atmosphere and concepts from our debut album "Mother Death". IRON MAIDEN IN A SLOWED DOWN, CRUSHING & DOOM-RIDDEN VERSION!!
OK, so this started back in 1990, when I accidentally played the B-side of Iron Maiden's "Holy Smoke" 12'' vinyl maxi single at the wrong speed on my parents' turntable, and failed to realize my mistake until it was too late; from that point on, I've always felt that the slow (i.e. "wrong") version of that particular song - a Golden Earring cover song called "Kill Me Ce Soir" - was WAY better than the proper version, haha.
Ever since then, I've naturally always made a point out of playing every Maiden vinyl I've ever bought at a slowed-down speed - just to see if other songs would sound cool that way as well... and hey, guess what? A lot of their songs actually did!
Well, in any case: For the purpose of this video, I've run the MP3-file through Audacity's "vinyl-speed-adjustment" filter; it loweres the speed by 25,926 % (without screwing up the pitch and so forth), making it sound exactly like a 45 rpm record played on a turntable at the 33⅓ rpm setting.
WARNING: Listening to SLOW MAIDEN is f**king addictive! :P
