It has won best female feature at the LONG ISLAND GAY AND LESBIAN FESTIVAL, best first film at Toronto's INSIDE out, bronze plaque standing at the Christopher Columbus Awards and runner up at the Great Lake's Independent Film Festival. Heather Tobin is a young emerging film director, writer, cinematographer, D.O.P.,& editor. She graduated from the three year Broadcasting Program as a Film Major at Niagara College Canada with honors. During her time there, she was awarded the Bob Johnson Award for best all around student in academics and practical work, an award for best cinematography in a short film and an award for her final thesis paper on the importance of the female vision in the film industry. She was a finalist for the 2003 National Apprenticeship Training Program with the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. Since graduation in 2003 she has started up her own Independent film company, "To Each HER Own FILMS". She has completed a broadcast commercial (staring the Olympic figure skater, Steven Cousins); a short film entitled "ENVOY", a feature length documentary on same-sex marriage entitled "I DO?". "I Do?(a documentary profiling same-sex marriage)" had its world premiere at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, where it received an award for best Gay Film. Heather has recently finished filming a feature length drama entitled "TO EACH HER OWN also know as DAMMED"; a heart felt lesbian coming out story. The film is doing wonders in the festival circuit and has played at over 45 Film Festivals around the world. Heather hopes TO EACH HER OWN will do its part in fighting homophobia both internal and external. More at www.toeachherown.com Heather completed a promotional video for the biggest sports and memorabilia card show in Canada at the International Centre. The 10 minute video featured Hockey players: Paul Coffey, Bobby Clarke, Grant Fuhr & Ray Bourque. Heather has also written a feature film script entitled "INNATE RESPONSES" and is currently seeking funding and a producer to bring this original, thought-provoking science fiction drama to life. Heather was a camera operator for Out TV's hit show "Chris & John to the Rescue (In Provincetown)" http://www.chrisandjohnonline.com/ Heather has also filmed & edited numerous wedding, corporate and music videos.

Heather has ample experience in camera work, editing, lighting and audio. Her films were shot on a Panasonic DVX 100a, using Sennheiser and Audio-technica shoot gun microphones, a manfrotto tripod and edited on Final Cut Pro. Heather is a very driven and motivated entrepreneur and would be a beneficial asset to any company.

All her work has been entirely written, directed, filmed, lit, cast and edited by her. She has been avidly pursuing her career in the film industry for four years and has been dreaming of making an impact in the world through film since she was 12 years old.
