About Intractable Pain Awareness
A glimpse inside the world of Chronic & Intractable Pain, from someone who lives it. I'm one of the lucky ones--someone believed me and helped me achieve pain management. Though I will live the rest of my life in constant, severe, disabling pain, I am not going to let it stop me. My mission: Advocate for others with severe pain, to get them the care they need and deserve. Pain is our nation's hidden epidemic. When we come out of the shadows and talk openly about our pain, we let in the light. Effecting more than 116 million Americans, it is time people understood our plight. People with Chronic and Intractable Pain should be treated like anyone else with a serious illness: with dignity and respect, ensuring we receive timely, appropriate care.

Love it! Awesome work--you're truly talented. The one thing I would say is that the pain pathway is *not* broken by opiates as much as it is like a temporary shock absorption phenomenon. Cannot think of the right word, exactly. But, b/c I have INTRACTABLE pain, the signal is always flowing. Nerve...
