Heartless EMOtion was started in February 2009, when vocalists Lowell Dimke and Daniel McKinney had an unfortunate encounter with an emo girl and her bat-bearing boyfriend. They decided to compose a song about the misfortune, and ultimately started Heartless EMOtion.
