@oxis77gas I can see where you're coming from; but notice that the British cavalry attacked from the flank. Cavalry were always placed on the army's flank, because the best way to stop a flanking attack is to halt it before it reaches you. A good comparison for your flexibility point is to look a...

@cowboy7526 That's right; when he abdicated he became the Duke of Windsor. The monarch doesn't have a surname, although the name of the royal family is the House of Windsor (used to be the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, but King George V changed it because it was not a good name to have during WW1);...

I am an Anglo-Catholic Christian in the Franciscan tradition; I define myself as belonging to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ through my membership of the Church of England. I see the Church of England as the continuation of the Catholic Church in England, and see models for that in the late antique Churches of Europe, such as Frankia. My theology is very much Catholic, and I would define myself as Radical Orthodox (see John Milbank and Catherine Pickstock). As a gay man I embrace my sexuality as fully compatible with my faith.
My particular interests in theology centre around the Church's sacramental life, especially the Holy Eucharist. Eucharistic theology is my passion! But I also very much enjoy Scripture study, and the theology of Love.
My patron saints are St. Edward the Confessor; St. Pio of Pietrelcina; Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman; St. Michael the Archangel; St. Raphael the Archangel; St. Cuthbert of Lindisfarne; and St. Teresa of Avila. I also have a strong devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham.
Besides Christianity I have a strong interest in history and all religions or spiritual traditions. I have a particular interest in ancient religions (from my study of history) including Norse, Greek, and Egyptian religion and their modern revivals. Whilst I confess belief in the Christian faith, and I believe that to be true, I respect other religious beliefs and have a genuine interest to learn more about them.
I love Tolkien and C.S. Lewis' works; and I'm quite a sci-fi nerd too!
I don't understand the American system, but in the UK the government's launching a consultation in a month's time on legalising same-sex marriage :-) We're finally moving into the 21st century; last year female Royal heirs were given the same precedence as male Royal heirs; there is change in the...
