About this user
Hawkey has been playing with notable Detroit Rock bands for decades, releasing his first solo Album "Hawkey" in 1985 with Charlie Hughn from Ted Nugent on vocals ex members of Badfinger and Romantics .The record was greeted with International rave reviews. This record will soon be made available to the public in 2009.
He was then asked to join the Scott Morgan Band ,which was the Sonic's Rendevzous Band after Fred "Sonic" Smith (OUR HERO) retired. He filled the lead guitar slot behind Scott Morgan, Scott "Rock Action" Asheton, Gary Rassmussen and Cathy Deschaine on background vocals for three years. The band released the album "Rock Action" which received 3 1/2 stars in Rolling Stone magazine.Hawkey appears on the first Scots Pirates LP on four songs including"And then there was love" and "Dante".
After he left the band he was approached by Wayne Kramer to record a project for Epitaph records. The players were Hawkey, Scott "Rock Action" Asheton, Gary Rassmussen and Cyn (Vocalist)as well as some of Detroits most notable players . The record was never released by the time of the Labels demise. There are plans to release it in 2009.
Hawkey has continued to do session and studio projects and we are exited to announce the release in 2009 of a new solo LP that is light years better than anything he has done before.
In the mean time we plan on adding new videos from recently discovered archives that cover a few phases of this Exiting and Electrifying Detroit Artist .
