It is not because of the material, iit is because of the (lacking) playing technique. If you don't know how to hit a cymbal correctly, you will crack hundreds of them.
My oldest cymbals is a used one from the mid-60ies and it sounds great. I hope i will last 40 more years :-)

Try the Diril Raw hats. They are pretty similar. Ibrahim Diril designed these cymbals for Meinl. Now he has his own cymbal company.
The quality and the sound ist the same, but Meinl cost 300 €, Diril only 180 €.

What's great with this unlathed rides is the stick definition. When you play fast and busy patterns you can hear every single note, that's awesome.

My last sentence refers to Sabian and Zildjian. Ok, they also have B8 cymbals. But the Zildjian ZBT or the Sabian B8 also entry-level.
The professional Paiste lines are handhammered. The budget cymbals aren't hammered at all, they are pressed in forms.
