Eeeeee, bulk cargo ships! If even one of the hatches gets breached, the ship's in bad, bad trouble and can sink in under five minutes (Edmund Fitzgerald, for example). It takes a special breed to crew them through heavy weather.

@veedgo Yes! Analog equipment gives a different scope for creativity than digital -- and some of its effects are nearly impossible to duplicate. Strangely, too, digital's scope of creativity rarely seems to get explored. There's a lot to be said for jungles of wiring and banks of pots and dials...
