July 22, 2008: First Delta Dan falls, around 8 PM. The fall is seen by people watching the live video, and they contact David Hancock and O.W.L. They search but cannot find the eaglet. The next morning, they resume their search.
They find Danny, sitting on a fence post in a field to the west of the nest.
According to one observer at the nest site: "When I left the nest site to go over to O.W.L., the parent eagles were perched together on one of their favorite power poles to the east of the nest."
Dan was not returned to the nest. To do so could have scared the other eaglet into jumping from the nest. Danny will be cared for at O.W.L. for a couple of weeks before being released in his nest area. He will be banded before he is set free.
July 28, 2008: Dawn slips from the nest when a parent lands, but manages to climb back in, after leaping from branch to branch.
The nest has been deteriorating, and the parents have made no attempts to restore it.

July 21, 2008: This year the Sidney eagles built their nest in a different tree. We kept the live streaming video on in their previous nest tree (where we saw them raise two chicks in 2006 and one chick in 2007.
This year they had triplets! From time to time, the Sidney bald eagle pair would visit their old nest, as it was in their territory.
In this video we can see their triplets enjoy a noisy reunion in this tree!

July 13, 2008: Mom and Dad Sidney decided to use another tree for their nest this year. No cameras there, but ground observers took pictures and kept track of what was going on. Two eaglets hatched and both have fledged!
Mom and Dad occasionally visit their old nest, but yesterday there was a surprise! One of their eaglets arrived, begging for food.
Who knows? Maybe the eagles will return to this nest tree, which is larger and seems to be healthier than the other tree.

May 25, 2008: Mom returns to the nest to feed her youngsters. Even when she's not in the nest, she's never far away, unless Dad's babysitting.
A group of crows harasses her. She doesn't seem to be overly disturbed by them, but they are a nuisance. However, without Madame Delta's protection, the chicks could be seriously injured or killed by a band of crows.
