The Brits do a good documentary, but the shot of it 'exploding' is inaccurate. Columbia first spun violently out of control and simultaneously broke apart, like a high-speed jet would. Very high speed as it was traveling at like Mach 14 when it finally lost it.

@inkimuff Me too. They used this exact film, and even the exact same narration except Cathy Lee Crosby spoke it! I remember reading it in National Enquirier about a year before TI.

I saw all these when it was first shown on network TV. The networks needed to add something because it had already been seen widely on HBO so they added the cutting room floor sweepings (did the same thing with Superman)

Why does this scene keep repeating? Notice the correct way Murdoch yells, "HARD A' STARBOARD" and the ensign spins the wheel counter-clockwise, i.e. to port. This is what Murdoch wanted, a turn to the left, you could issue that in an emergency by yelling the opposite direction. I don't understand...

I had this! Ordered it from a computer catalog for $30 (lot of money for a kid in 1980!) Pretty amazing for the time. subLogic eventually became MS Flight Sim! Think I still have the cassette in my mom's basement, wonder if its worth anything?

My god, I never though these pieces, "Meltdown" especially, could be played live. I thought they were all mostly pieced together in the studio. Seeing these being created live is mindblowing!!

The narration at the end doesn't fit. Not that they're the wrong words, but any words don't have the impact that just the images do. Right at the beginning, the cobwebs on the phone, yikes....

I love the idea of a sweet little pop song about a potential school yard massacre. Seriously, not being ironic, this song is so cool...

@squirrelhunter101111 Look it up dingus. This was used in Ken Burns great series but it is a modern piece written in 1982. It is the -ONLY- non-period music in The Civil War miniseries.

Stolen? No, definitely not. I don't know the correct musical terms but even with the opening notes being similar Star Wars is a completely different arrangement. Its much faster & livelier.
