My motivation for code hacking is not the cheating aspect of it. It's mainly done with a "can I hack X code?" mentality. A challenge I see as fun and the opportunity to learn more about the game. If I can't, then so be it. Somewhere down the line I might eventually hack it.

The main reason for me doing so these days, though, is because I have a bit of an obsession for beta/debug content. It took precedence over finding codes just for fun back in '04 when I found my first ever debug menu for a PS2 game, surprisingly. This was during a time when PS2 hacking was still in its infancy. All we had was PS2DIS (some used IDA) and some guides created by aspiring hackers. The following year, the PS2 scene shined upon the release of codes allowing you to dump the game's RAM.
