Manatee County Habitat for Humanity celebrates their 100th home with Habitat Chic, an all-star design competition featuring two of the interior design industrys biggest personalities. Star of HGTVs Design Star, Jason Champion and Mark Dalton, author of Chic on the Cheap, will face an iron-chef style competition as they design using donated items and furnishings from Habitats ReStore to completely redecorate each home as the clock ticks toward a quickly approaching deadline. Each designer will have 24 hours, 1,100 square feet of living space and a limited budget to make two Habitat homes over with style.
Once the competition starts, a film crew will be on hand to capture each designers work in a reality television-type style. The completed homes will be unveiled during the Opening Night Premiere Party on Saturday, November 14 and displayed during the Tour of Homes for the community to enjoy. Voting will take place during the Tour of Homes, and one designer will be named the winner at the end of the challenge. Manatee County Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a hands-on, ecumenical, nondiscriminatory, housing ministry, http://manateehabitat.org/.
